Solar Eclipse December 4, 2002 - The total solar eclipse of 142 saros , which was best seen in southern Africa and Australia, as well as in the Indian Ocean . Small partial phases of this eclipse were also visible in most African countries and throughout Australia. In some parts of Angola, this was the second total eclipse in 18 months, after the solar eclipse of June 21, 2001. The maximum eclipse phase was 1.0244.
