Policy
In the 2012 presidential election, residents of the canton gave Nicolas Sarkozy in the 1st round 25.9% of the vote against 25.7% in Francois Hollande and 25.5% in the Marine Le Pen , in the 2nd round in the canton defeated Sarkozy, who received 50.7% of the vote (2007 Round 1: Sarkozy - 28.2%, Segolene Royal - 22.9%; Round 2: Sarkozy - 53.4%). In the elections to the National Assembly in 2012 in the 1st electoral district of the Pas-de-Calais department, they supported the candidate of the left-wing forces, a member of the Socialist Party, Jean-Jacques Cottel , who collected 39.1% in the 1st round and 56.3% in the 2nd round. (2007, round 1: Philippe Rapenau (SNM) - 37.8%, Round 2: Jacqueline Macket (SP) - 50.7%).
