N is a free platforming game created by Metanet Software using Flash technology. It is notable for applying a non-standard approach to the platformer genre - the high complexity of the game is compensated by endless lives, and vice versa - thanks to these features, the game is the forerunner and inspirer of games such as Super Meat Boy and Limbo . Received audience awards at the Independent Games Festival 2005 and Slamdance Guerilla Gamemaker Competition's 2006. [1]

Description
The player controls a ninja , who must get past enemies and traps to the switch that opens the door, and then enter it. If the player touched the enemies (fell on a mine, hit by a rocket, killed by a laser, killed by electric shock), then you will have to start the level anew. The game ends if the time allotted for completing the level has expired, you have to start the episode again. Time can be increased by collecting "gold": one square of "gold" adds two seconds.
The game is divided into 100 episodes (00-99), each of which consists of five levels. Initially, it is possible to play episodes 00, 10, ..., 90. Access to the next episode is given when passing through the previous one. When passing through each ten of the last episode in the settings, the ability to change the character's color to a new one is added, and after passing through all - to any one using the RGB sliders. After passing episodes 00-59, the possibility of "overclocking", increasing the speed of the game up to 10 times.
The game has a trial mode - it turns off the timer and it becomes possible to scroll through the levels, but for such a passage there is no color at the end of the column and you can’t confirm your record on the Internet .
A modification of NReality was also created.
In addition to the official Linux version, there is an unofficial Linux version [2] . The reason for its creation was that the original game requires the outdated system library GTK 1 to run, which is not installed by default in new distributions (GTK 2 is installed), and it must be installed manually. In addition, the original game uses the outdated OSS v.3 sound system, which solely captures the sound device - that is, there was no sound in the game, or there was only sound in it, and it disappeared in the rest of the system. The unofficial version uses the latest at the time of repackaging the game Adobe Flash Player for Linux.

Gameplay
Management is carried out from the keyboard. Six customizable buttons are used: left, right, jump, pause, suicide (for some hopeless situations) and the boss button.
Using successive taps, you can perform complex actions: sliding along an inclined and steep wall, jumping from the wall. If you hold the jump, the ninja will jump further than if you just pressed the jump. If at the moment you touch the wall (in flight) you press the jump, then the ninja will bounce off the wall. If at the moment you touch the wall you will hold the cursor movement key towards the wall, further, then the ninja will begin to slowly slide along the wall.
In addition, experienced players can use complex techniques such as corner-jumps, quick climbs in narrow aisles (chimneys), etc.
User Levels
In addition to the basic levels, the game supports the ability to create and add your own. Including those user levels that the developers considered quite interesting or beautiful already included in the game. In the November 2006 version , the game contained 197 such levels.
For the exchange of user levels, there is a NUMA archive (N Users Maps Archive). On February 1, 2010, the archive contains 192354 cards.
