Division History
Formed in 1936 in the Far East.
75th cavalry regiment was transferred from the 15th cavalry division of ZabVO,
79th cavalry regiment - from the 6th mountain cavalry division of SAVO,
84 cavalry regiment - from the 8th mountain cavalry division SAVO.
121 cavalry regiment formed in the Siberian Military District,
31 mechanized regiment - in Kharkov.
Separate squadrons - communications and combat engineer were formed at the 8th cavalry division of OKVDA.
The staff number is 7600 people.
Dislocation for 1936β38 - Lazo, Sebuchary (45th TP).
NGO Directive No. 4/2/54087 dated 7. 12. 39 was transferred to the staff of a typical cavalry division. The equestrian artillery regiment was reorganized into the equestrian artillery battalion, the anti-aircraft battery into the anti-aircraft artillery battalion, the motor transport squadron, the dressing squad, and the PCP disbanded.
By November 1, 40, it had: 5820 personnel, including 561 commanders, 998 junior commanders, 4261 ordinary personnel ; 4572 horses, including 3498 combatant, 703 artillery, 371 convoys; 266 vehicles, including 12 cars, 139 trucks, 115 special ones; 4022 rifles and carbine; 142 light machine guns; 22 easel machine guns; 24 anti-aircraft machine guns; 12 45 mm guns, 16 76 mm anti-aircraft guns, 12 76 mm guns, 8 122 mm howitzers; 63 tanks T-26; 4 armored vehicles.
