Chicago International Film Festival is an annual international film festival held in Chicago . The event was founded in 1964 and is the oldest of its kind in North America.
In 2010, the 46th Chicago International Film Festival featured 150 films from over 50 countries. The festival program consisted of many different sections, including a contest of countries, new directors , American cinema and others.
The 47th festival was held from October 6 to 20, 2011. 48th festival - from October 11-23, 2012. The 49th festival - from October 10-24, 2013, the 50th festival - October 9-23, 2014, the 53rd festival - October 12-26, 2017.

International Relations Program
The program of international relations was created in 2003 with the aim of raising awareness in the international culture of cinema, bringing diversity to Chicago and to increase the attractiveness of the festival for the audience and personnel of different nationalities. Foreign films are shown free of charge weekly throughout the city from July to September.

In 2006, director Steven Spielberg was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2014, the prize was awarded to Kevin Kline .
