Per Sefland ( Norwegian Per Sefland ; born January 27, 1949 ) is a Norwegian politician who served as governor of Svalbard from October 1, 2005 to September 16, 2009 .

Sefland was born in the city of Evier, a commune of Evier og Hornnes in the province of Aust-Agder . In 1975, he graduated from the University of Oslo with a degree in law, and in parallel with his studies worked in the police. In the period from 1975 to 1976, Sefland worked at the Ministry of Justice, and from 1976 to 1979 he worked as an inspector in the police of the province of Møre og Romsdal .
Per Sefland married since 1972 , has two daughters.
