Biography

Julian Voss-Andreae (Julian Voss-Andreae; born August 15, 1970 in Hamburg, Germany) is a German sculptor who lives and works in the United States. Foss-Andre began as an artist [1] , and then studied experimental physics at the universities of Berlin, Edinburgh and Vienna. He worked on his qualification work in quantum physics in the Anton Zeilinger research group, taking part in an experiment demonstrating the quantum behavior of large objects [2] . In 2000, Foss-Andre moved to the United States, where in 2004 he graduated from the Northwest Pacific College of Art in Portland, Oregon. The scientific past has had and continues to have a strong influence on the artist. Among his works are protein sculptures [3] , including a large-scale sculpture of the human antibody molecule "Angel of the West" (2008) [4] , created for the Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter (Florida, USA); a sculpture created for the 2003 Nobel Prize in Chemistry Roderick MacKinnon "Birth of an Idea" (2007), representing the structure of ion channels [5] ; as well as works devoted to the artistic and aesthetic understanding of the concepts and concepts of quantum physics , including the sculpture "Quantum Man" (2006) [6] [7] .
