The Apostolic Vicariate of Calapana ( Latin: Vicariatus Apostolicus Calapanensis ) is an apostolic Vicariate of the Roman Catholic Church with a center in the city of Calapan , Philippines . The jurisdiction of the Apostolic Vicariate of Kalapan includes the province of East Mindoro . The cathedral of the Apostolic Vicariate of Kalapan is the Church of the Baby Jesus .

History
On July 2, 1936, the Holy See established the apostolic prefecture of Mindoro, separating it from the diocese of Lipa (today - the Archdiocese of Lipa) and the diocese of Haro (today - the Archdiocese of Haro).
On July 12, 1951, Pope Pius XII issued the bull Merito ab Apostolica , which transformed the apostolic prefecture of Mindoro into an apostolic vicar with the name of the city of Calapan.
On December 19, 1974 and January 27, 1983, the Apostolic Vicariate of Calapana transferred part of its territory for the construction of the new diocese of Romblon and the Apostolic Vicariate of San Jose in Mindoro .
