History

The company emerged as a manufacturing division of Acer Inc. , but in 2000 it became a separate company.

On April 29, 2008, the Wistron Board of Directors approved plans to purchase monitor production capacities from Lite-On Technology Corporation .

In July 2011, Wistron and Microsoft reached an agreement that Wistron would pay Microsoft royalties for using Chrome and Android platforms in its products. [3] In September 2011, Wistron signed a patent deduction agreement with Intellectual Ventures . [four]
