General Information

Mandy's parents are Mario and Anna. Father in his younger years combined work as a doctor with playing in local amateur football clubs.

Minella came to tennis under the patronage of her father at the age of 5 in Luxembourg ; from the age of 15 he also studied at the Academy in Paris (first at the Academy of Bob Brett, and then at the Academy of Patrick Muratoglu).

During the match, the Luxembourger prefers to perform aggressive attacking actions while being at the back line. Favorite punches - giving and forehand. Favorite coatings are soil and slow hard modifications. During the meeting, it is prone to loss of concentration on the game.

Sports career

2016

Mandy Minella began the year 2016 at the Auckland tournament ( New Zealand ), but could not qualify, losing to tennis player from Austria Tamira Pashek with a score of 2: 0 (6: 3 6: 3)

In February, Mandy Minella was unable to qualify for the Australian Open tournament, losing to Chinese tennis player Zhang Shuai with a score of 2: 0 (6: 3 6: 2).

In June, Mandy Minella performed at the Bol tournament ( Croatia ), where she was able to reach the finals. in the final, Mandy met with Slovenian tennis player Polona Herzog , the match ended 2-0 in favor of Minella.

At the end of June, Mandy Minella successfully passed the qualifying round for the Wimbledon tournament (Great Britain), getting into the main draw Mandy was able to reach the 1/32 finals where she lost to tennis player from the USA Sloan Stevens with a score 2: 1 (3: 6 7: 6 8: 6) .

In August, Mandy Minella successfully qualified for the US Open in the main draw. Mandy lost in the 1/64 finals to Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina with a score of 2: 1 (6: 7 6: 0 6: 2).

2019

At the US Open, she lost in the first round to the future semi-finalist Belinda Bencic in two sets.
