Wendy Anne McLendon-Covey ( born October 10, 1969) is an American actress, comedian, producer and screenwriter. A stand-up comedian, Maclendon-Covey gained her first fame thanks to the improvisational sitcom Rino 911 (2003-2008), after which she starred in the movie Bridesmaids (2011). Since 2013, Maclendon-Covey has been playing the lead role in the Goldberg’s ABC sitcom.

Career
Wendy Maclendon-Covey is best known as an improvisation actress, from 2002 to 2009 she performed at the elite Los Angeles club “ Groundlings ”, where Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig , her colleagues in the film “ Bridesmaids ”, also worked at different times. [2] She has also appeared in dozens of films and television shows. From 2003 to 2009 she had a role in the sitcom Reno 911! .
Macklendon gained considerable fame in 2011 for her role in the commercially and critically successful film Bridesmaids . In 2010-2013, she also starred in the series " Rules of Living Together " [3] .
In 2012, Maclendon-Covey appeared in the movie “ What to Expect When You Expect a Child ” as Jennifer Lopez 's best friend [4] , and also starred in several other films. In February 2012, she, along with Goldie Hawn , was supposed to play a major role in the pilot of the comedy series HBO "Viagra Diaries", created by Darren Star , but soon both actresses changed their minds to star in the show and its production was frozen [5] . Immediately after that, she received five offers from major channels for shooting in pilots, and chose the main female role in the ABC pilot “Only Fools and Horses” with Christopher Lloyd , who was not selected for further production [6] [7] . She was also a guest star in the sitcoms Beauties in Cleveland and The American Family [8] .
In January 2013, it was announced that Maclendon-Covey would play the lead role in the ABC Goldberg comedy series created by Adam Goldberg [9] [10] . She will also simultaneously play in the upcoming Showtime drama series “ Masters of Sex ” [11] . On the big screen, she plays one of the main roles along with Amy Smart and Nia Long in the melodrama Club of Single Moms, which was released May 9, 2014 [12] [13] .

Wendy Ann McLendon was born in California. Since 1996, she has been married to Greg Covey. They live in Long Beach, California.
