The county was originally called Tampereentie ( Fin. Tampereentie , Swede. Tammerforsvägen ). The population of Tamperenty County was 14,010 people ( 2004 ), of which 93.35% used Finnish as their native language, 1.88% Swedish, and 4.76% another language. At the age under 15 years old, there were 12.88%, and over 65 years old - about 20.27%.
After renaming, it was called Runosmyaki-Raunistula .
