History
On October 22, 1960, Pope John XXIII issued the Quod sacri Calbayogani bull , which established the Borongan Diocese, isolating it from the Kalbiog Diocese.
On December 4, 1974, the Diocese of Borongan transferred part of its territory for the construction of a new Diocese of Qatarman .
