History
On December 9, 1989, Pope John Paul II released the Bull Philippinis in Insulis , which established the territorial prelature of Libmanan, singling it out from the aparchies of Cáceres.
On March 25, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI issued the bull Cum in Philippinis , which transformed the territorial prelature of Libmanan into a diocese.
