Barsovy is a former state zoological reserve . It was located in the southern part of Primorsky Krai ( Khasansky district ) along the state border with China . Created in 1979 . It had a designated area of 106 thousand hectares. It was administered by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia .
The vegetation on the territory is represented by coniferous-deciduous and larch forests, rare and endangered species of vascular plants.
Many insects from the Red Book of Russia ( grasshopper Uvarov , grilloblattida Kurentsova ). Endemic - hakutozan boloria and alcine sailboat .
On the territory of the reserve all types of hunting, the arrangement of tourist camps and camps were prohibited.
In 2008, it was included in the newly formed Leopard Sanctuary [1] .
