Tselinsky, Nartsiz

Nartsiz Tselinsky (right: Tselinsky; Polish. Narcyz Celiński ; 1817 - November 27, 1866 , Irkutsk ) - the first leader of the Circum-Baikal uprising of 1866 .

Member of the Polish uprisings of 1848 in Galicia and Poznan; then served as an engineering captain in the Caucasus . For participation in the 1863 uprising, he was sentenced to 8-year hard labor and exiled to the Irkutsk province.

He was the leader of an underground organization that organized the Circum-Baikal Uprising in the summer of 1866 , and at the beginning of the uprising became the commander of the rebel army - the Legion of Free Poles ( Legion Wolnych Polaków ). Another leader was the 30-year-old pianist Gustav Sharamovich . Their assistants were Vladislav Kotkovsky and Jacob Reiner .

Their conspiracy included an attack on the convoy, its disarmament, and further - an escape to Transbaikalia, with the aim of freeing other Polish exiles, and then through Mongolia to China in the hope of finding English ships in order to return to Europe through America.

However, when their plan to break into China was rejected, he resigned, transferring power to Gustav Sharmovich.

He was convicted in Irkutsk, on November 19, 1866, was sentenced to death and on November 27 of the same year, he was shot.
