Turbina inopinata (lat.) - a species of climbing plants of the genus Turbine of the family Convolvulaceae , endemic to New Caledonia . The only species of the genus Turbine, found on the islands of the Pacific Ocean. Cultivated as an ornamental plant .

It grows naturally in the dry forests of Caledonia. The species was first described in 1870, rediscovered after 75 years. A rare plant, found only in certain parts of the forest in the vicinity of two communes of the island.
Climbing plant. The trunk of this creeper can reach 5-8 cm in diameter.
Clinging to the branches of the trees surrounding it, can grow to a very large length.
The bark is light beige in color, slightly cracked, on young shoots the bark is even and darker.
Young leaves of dark green color in the form of a spear with a length of 5 and a width of 1 centimeter. Adult leaves acquire a heart shape with a leaf blade width of up to 5 centimeters, the color becomes pale green.
Pink tubular flowers from 7 to 8 centimeters in diameter. Stamens and pistil dark yellow, strongly protrude from the flower.
