Sports Biography
Jones started swimming in early childhood. Her mom led her to the swimming section. Very quickly, Lizel began to show good results. Already at the age of 14, Jones began to play for the main team of Australia at international competitions. In 2000, Lizel successfully performed at the Australian Swimming Championships and managed to qualify for the Olympic Games starting in September in Sydney .
Summer Olympics 2000
The Olympic Games in Sydney took shape for a 15-year-old debutante very well. At individual distances, Jones was selected to play only in the 100-meter breaststroke . In the preliminary round, Lizel showed a score of 1: 07.92 s. and with the third time went to the next round.
