Club career

Dawson began his football career at the Radcliffe Borough Club in the 2007/08 season, where he quickly joined the roster. He played for the club for two seasons, becoming a fan favorite. In February 2009, he moved to Rochdale , signing a two-year contract with the club [1] .

For the core rochdale, Dawson made his debut on August 8, 2009 in a match against Port Vale . He then played against Sheffield Wensday at the Hillsboro Football League Cup . Despite the fact that Rochdale conceded three goals in this meeting, fans recognized Dawson as the best player in the match.

In the 2009/10 season, Dawson scored 10 goals in all tournaments and was included in the symbolic “team of the year” of the Second Football League .
