Svetloye (until 1947, Valkeamatka , Fin. Valkeamatka [2] ) is a village in the Krasnozernoye rural settlement of Priozersky district of the Leningrad Region .

Title
The toponym Valkeamatka in literal translation means the Bright Path .
By the decision of the executive committee of the Payville Village Council of July 11, 1947, the village of Valkeamatka was named Big Mountain . After some time, the village received the transferable name Svetlaya , which in the form of a middle clan - Svetloye was enshrined in the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR of January 13, 1949 [3] .
History

Until 1939, the village of Valkeamatka was part of the Valkjärvi volost of the Vyborg province of the Republic of Finland [3] .
Since May 1940 - as part of the Payville Village Council of the Rautovsky District of the Leningrad Region.
From July 1, 1941 to May 31, 1944, the Finnish occupation.
Since October 1948, as part of the Korobitsinsky Village Council of the Sosnovsky District .
Since January 1949, the village began to be counted as Svetloye . During the enlargement of the economy, the neighboring village of Lamminpää was also attached to the village [3] .
Since June 1954, as part of the Michurinsky Village Council.
In 1958, the population of the village was 299 people.
Since December 1960, again as part of the Korobitsyn village council of Roshchinsky district .
Since February 1, 1963 - as part of the Vyborg district .
Since January 1, 1965 - as part of the Priozersky district [4] .
According to 1966, the village of Svetloye was also part of the Korobitsinsky Village Council [5] .
According to the data of 1973 and 1990, the village of Svetloye was again part of the Michurinsky Village Council [6] [7] .
In 1996, the Svetloye radio astronomy observatory was founded near the village.
In 1997, 137 people lived in the village of Svetloye of the Krasnoozernoy volost, in 2002 - 146 people (Russians - 90%) [8] [9] .
In 2007, 99 people lived in the village of Svetloye of the Krasnoozerny joint venture , in 2010 - 127 people [10] [11] .

The village is located in the southwestern part of the district on the highway 41K-017 ( Sands - Podgorye ).
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 25 km [10] .
The distance to the nearest railway station Sosnovo is 30 km [5] .
The village is located on the southeastern shore of Red Lake .
