Gostorg

Gostorg RSFSR ( State Export-Import Office, Joint-Stock Company ) - an organization that exercised a monopoly of foreign trade in the first years of Soviet power. It was formed in 1922 and was one of the most important divisions of the People's Commissariat of Foreign Trade [1] .

He carried out export-import operations on the foreign market : exported traditional goods of Russian export - furs , furs , flax , hemp , wheat , fish , and purchased machinery, machines, equipment for export proceeds. Gostorg also conducted procurement work - created enterprises for processing agricultural raw materials , and promoted industrial hunting .

The chairman of the Board of the Gostorg of the RSFSR and a member of the board of the People's Commissariat of Foreign Trade of the RSFSR from 1924 to 1927 was the famous Soviet diplomat Alexander Antonovich Troyanovsky . As A. I. Mikoyan, former People's Commissar of Foreign Trade , subsequently wrote about him: “Troyanovsky was in no way inferior to American businessmen in his grip” [2] ).

Gostorg in art

Gostorg’s activities were dedicated to the famous documentary of the film director Dzigi Vertov “The Sixth Part of the World”, which was shot by order and at the expense of Gostorg in 1925-1926.
