Barranca ( Spanish: Provincia de Barranca , Quechua Barranca pruwinsya ) is one of the 9 provinces of the Peruvian region of Lima . The area is 1,355.87 km². According to 2007 data, the population is 133,904 people [1] . The population density is 98.76 people / km². The capital is the city of the same name.

Geography
Located in the northern part of the region. It borders with the province of Waura (in the south) and the Ankash region (in the north and east). In the west it is washed by the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
