Division History
From November 26, 1941, the formation of two Kalmyk cavalry divisions began. By the decision of the bureau of the regional party committee and the SNK of the Kalmyk ASSR, these divisions received the names: the 110th Separate Kalmyk Cavalry Division (OKKD) named after SM Budyonny and the 111th Separate Kalmyk Cavalry Division (OKKD) them. - ↑ March 4, 1942 The Supreme Command adopted directive No. 76443, according to which the number of cavalry units was reduced. On March 12, 1942, the disbandment of the 111th cd named after O. I. Gorodovikov began. 1368 people, including 657 Kalmyks, were sent to the 110th cd. The remaining personnel were divided into two parts on a national basis and transferred to spare parts: about 2 thousand Kalmyks in the 15th reserve checkpoint (Voroshilovsk), 1 thousand Russians - in the 16th reserve service station (Kotelnikovo). Another 241 officers and sergeants were reclassified to various institutions, and 61 fighters (sick and seconded) were transferred to the Western District Military Commissariat. In the 110th cd, most of the property of the 111th cd was transferred, including 2,613 horses (NARK. F. P-131. Op.1. D.1123. L.2-4.), Which finally allowed complete this mix.
