Team history
The name of the team "Jets" comes from the English. jet , "jet engine, fighter".
The history of the American football club "New York Jets" began with the team "New York Titans", which was one of the founders of the 1960 American Football League. The team did not spend the first seasons too vividly, but in the late 60s, quarterback Joe Nemat led her to fame. In 1968, the club won its first and only AFL championship, getting the right to play for the Super Bowl III against the NFL champions Baltimore Colts . The Jets defeated their rivals, proving that the AFL is a serious competitor to the NFL, which was considered the “senior” league.
