Tikhomirov, Alexander Sergeevich

Alexander Sergeyevich Tikhomirov (born April 20, 1929 , Ichalki ) is a Russian scientist, surgeon , professor, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation.

Biography

Born in 1929 in Ichalki (now in the Ichalkovsky district of Mordovia ).

In 1947 he graduated from high school with a gold medal. In the second and third courses Tikhomirov was appointed commander of the cadet department .

Since October 1, 1950 - the commander of an officer platoon .

In 1953 he graduated from the Military Medical Academy. S. M. Kirov .

In August 1953, after graduation, he was distributed to the port of Vladivostok . After special courses, he was appointed head of the medical service of the flagship cruiser Kalinin and conducted operations in autonomous navigation.

  • From 1957 to 1971, he worked as a surgeon in the departments of surgical profile at VGMI.

In 1966 he defended his thesis on "The effect of ginseng extract on the early postoperative period after gastrectomy with complications of peptic ulcer disease."

  • Head of the Department of Surgery of the Pediatric Faculty (1973-1987), rector of the Vladivostok Medical Institute (1970-1984) [1] .

A deputy of the city council of Vladivostok of four convocations, a candidate member of the Primorsky Regional Committee of the CPSU (1971-1981). For ten years he headed the Primorsky Regional Committee for Peace (in 1982 he was awarded an honorary diploma and a medal from the World Peace Council) [2] .

  • Head of the Department of Operative Surgery (1988-1991),
  • From 1991 to 2010 - professor at the Department of Operative Surgery, VSMU.
