Biography
Born in the family of a hunter fisherman Khanty . From 12 years old he worked with his father. With the beginning of the development of the North under Soviet rule, he began to study at school, in 1933 he entered the Ostyako-Vogulsky (Khanty-Mansiysk) pedagogical school . At this time, he began to process the legends and oral legends of his people heard in childhood, in 1937 his first processing of folk songs and legends appeared in the manuscript journal of students of the Soviet North School. Soon his poems were published in the district newspaper Ostyako-Vogulskaya Pravda .
In 1938, the verses of the young Khanty poet were called “the first signs of the emergence of Khanty literature” [2] .
After graduating from a teacher training college in 1938, he was in charge of an elementary school. In 1939-1941 he worked as the editor of the national page in the newspaper Ostyako-Vogulskaya Pravda. In 1940, the Omsk Regional Book Publishing House published the collection Khanty and Mansi Poetry, in which his works were published.
Was drafted into the Red Army by age and the beginning of World War II met in its ranks [3] .
He participated in the defense of Kiev and Korosten , from July to September 1941. Then, until October 18, as part of the troops of the South-Western Front, he defended Kharkov and Sumy , and from October 30, Voronezh . Defended Donbass (July 1942). Since October 1942, he fought as part of the 83th Guards Mortar Regiment of the 38th Army 4 of the Ukrainian Front , served in intelligence , and at the end of the war he commanded intelligence of the division [3] . He was awarded the military orders of World War II degree (1944) and the Red Star (1945) for skillful adjustment of fire, the detection and suppression of combat crews and enemy tanks. He finished the war in Poland.
Demobilized in 1947 with the rank of guard of the second lieutenant . He was sent to the Sverdlovsk Higher Party School , worked as the editor of the newspaper "Stakhanovets" Laryaksky (now Nizhnevartovsk) district.
After completing higher education, he was elected secretary of the Surgut district committee of the CPSU.
He worked as deputy editor of the district newspaper " Leninskaya Pravda " in the department of the peoples of the Far North. In 1957, when the newspaper in the Khanty-Mansiysk district organized a newspaper in the Khanty language, “Lenin pant huvat” (On the Leninist Way), G. D. Lazarev was appointed editor. At this time, he resumed literary work.
In 1960, the Tyumen Book Publishing House published a book of his short stories, “As Movvins” (“On the Ob Land”), which laid the foundation for Khanty fiction.
In 1963, the collection "Tales and Tales of Old Ica" was published in Russian, in 1966 - the book for children, "Sornengtov" ("The Golden Horse").
Poems were published in magazines, almanacs and collective collections.
In 1973 he retired, moved to Konotop , then to Omsk .
His poems were published in magazines, almanacs and collective collections “On the Boundary”, “ Soviet Arctic ”, “ Siberian Lights ”, are included in the 200-volume edition of the Library of World Literature .
He died on October 20, 1979, was buried in Omsk.
