Biography
Born on March 15, 1929 in the village of Kara-Bulak of the Frunzensky European canton of the Kyrgyz Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (now Keminsky district of the Chui oblast of Kyrgyzstan ).
In 1944 he entered the orchestra of folk instruments, headed by PF Shubin. In 1956, he graduated from the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory with a degree in opera and symphony conducting (student of A. P. Chugunov).
Since 1956 - Chief Conductor of the K. Orozov Kyrgyz Folk Instruments Orchestra, since 1961 - Conductor, in 1983-1985 - Chief Conductor of the Kyrgyz Opera and Ballet Theater. He conducted more than 20 productions. Among them are: “Eugene Onegin” by P. I. Tchaikovsky, “Mermaid” by A. S. Dargomyzhsky, “La Boheme” by G. Puccini, the ballets “Swan Lake” by P. I. Tchaikovsky, “Don Quixote” by L. Minkus, “Spartak »A.I. Khachaturian,“ The Fountain of Bakhchisarai ”by B. Asafiev, as well as works of national authors - V. Vlasov, A. Maldybaeva, V. Fere, M. Abdraev, A. Amanbaeva, M. Rauhverger, K. Moldobasanova, H Nurymov. Concert programs prepared under his leadership were highly appreciated in Canada, Syria, Ethiopia, Denmark, Switzerland.
As a composer, he was the author of more than 200 songs, romances, choirs, cantatas, the musical comedy “Beware the Bride”, the opera “Kurmanbek”. He is co-author of the National Anthem of the Kyrgyz Republic. In 1971–1983 - rector, since 1985 - Head of the Department of Folk Instruments of the Kyrgyz State Institute of Arts named after B. Beyshenalieva.
He died on June 12, 2011 in Bishkek, at the age of 83.
