The album includes all the singles from her last three studio albums, as well as two new songs, one of which - “ Du temps ” - was released in digital format on November 7, 2011.

About the album

On November 3, 2011, one of the articles in the French newspaper France Soir confirmed rumors about Farmer's upcoming hit collection, stating that it would be released on December 5, 2011. Readers were also presented with a photograph of the upcoming album. ^[2] The next day, Polydor officially announced this collection:

After the album "Bleu noir" Milen Farmer presents "2001.2011", a collection of her hits for this period. This album continues her first collection of hits "Les Mots", sold over 1.5 million. It will also include two new songs, including a new single. ^[3]

After the Bleu noir album, certified diamond, Mylène Farmer presents 2001.2011, a selection of her greatest hits during that period. This album follows her first best of Les Mots, sold over 1.5 million. It will also contain two new tracks including new single.

On November 10, 2011, a list of songs appeared on the Internet: 17 tracks, including all the singles from the last three studio albums, a duet with Moby , one live single and two new songs. ^[4] Unlike Farmer’s previous albums, the cover of this album is not a photograph, but an abstract watercolor drawing depicting half of the singer’s face, half-hidden by a lock of red hair. The drawing is made by Milen herself ^[5] .
