Nicola Formichetti ( born Nicola Formichetti , May 31, 1977 , Tokyo , Japan ) is a designer, fashion designer of Italian-Japanese descent. Best known for her famous singer Lady Gage , as well as the new creative director of the French fashion house MUGLER [1] . Formichetti is also known as Vogue Hommes Japan fashion director, executive editor of several other fashion magazines, fashion director of clothing company Uniqlo [2] . In November 2010, Nicola was named one of the “most influential creative people working in the fashion world now” [3] . The following month, he was awarded the Isabella Blow Prize as the fashionable Creator of British Fashion in 2010 [4] .

Biography
The son of a Japanese flight attendant and pilot from Italy [1] , Formiquetti was born in Japan and raised in both Rome and Tokyo [5] . As a child, he studied as a classical pianist, and still plays to relax [1] . Nicola dreamed of moving to London , and admission to an architectural school was an excellent occasion for a change of residence [1] [6] . Nicola said that instead of going to school, he just went in and ran out of the back entrance, after which he fled to the city, this was the case for three years [6] . He often went to clubs and fashion parties [1] . At this time, he worked in a fashion boutique called “The Pineal Eye”, where he reached the position of artistic director and worked for this position for two years [7] .
Career
During the work of Formichetti “The Pineal Eye”, he was noticed by the editor of the fashion magazine Katie England, and she invited him to write a monthly page in the magazine Dazed & Confused called “Eye Spy”, and then became the fashion director of the magazine in 2005, eventually becoming creative director in 2008 of this magazine [1] [8] [9] . His work at Dazed & Confused led him to other fashion magazines, including V, Another Magazine, Arena Homme + and Harper's Bazaar USA [2] [7] . Among fashion designers, he worked with Kim Jones, collaborating with him in his collection and fashion show, and worked with fashion houses such as Dolce & Gabbana , Alexander McQueen , Gareth Pugh, Carri "Cassette Playa" Mundane, Prada , Missoni, Iceberg, and brands such as Nike , Umbro , Puma , Stussy, Topman, H&M , and Edwin [7] . Among fashion photographers, Formichetti worked with Nick Knight, Hedi Slimane, Terry Richardson , Stephen Klein, and Oliviero Toscani, among others [7] [9] .
Lady Gaga
2009—2010
Nicola began to collaborate with Lady Gaga , as her stylist , or more correctly fashion director, in early May 2009 [10] . Formichetti later said: "It was instant love." [9] They met after shooting a photo shoot for V61 (September issue) with Mario Testino [11] . In June of the following year, he was the director of costumes for her performance at the 2009 Much Music Video Awards [12] , and after that began to act as director of costumes in many important and significant performances by Gaga, including at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards in September where she appeared in four dresses of Jean-Paul Gaultier and in one from Alexander McQueen , on Saturday Night Live she was dressed in orbits rotating along the axis, under the metal from Nazir Mazhar, and then at the Royal Variety Performance in December, where she appeared in latex dress by Atsuko Kudo [12] [13] . The fall of that year, Lady Gaga appeared in Vogue Hommes Japan magazine, in an article titled “Lady Gaga & Araki's Tokyo Love,” by Nobuyoshi Araki as the photographer, and again Nikola Formichetti was the creative director [14] . Their first collaboration in the video was a huge success - it was Bad Romance [15] , directed by Francis Lawrence , the video later became the video of the year, and then won a Grammy in the category “Best Short Music Video”. In the video, Gaga appears in several costumes and pairs of shoes from Alexander McQueen, in orbit from Nazir Mazhar, as well as in the “diamond crown” created by Frank Fernandez, as well as the fashion house of the singer “ Haus of Gaga ” [12] . He also acted as a stylist and dresser for the tour of the singer The Monster Ball Tour . Nicola was also a stylist for The Fame Monster photo shoot (photographer Hedi Slimane).
