Caruas ( Spanish: Provincia de Carhuás , Quechua Qarwa pruwinsya ) is one of the 20 provinces of the Ankash region in Peru . The area is 804 km². According to 2005 data, the population is 43 902 people [1] . The population density is 54.6 people / km². The capital is the city of the same name, located 434 km from Lima.

Geography and climate
Located in the central part of the region. Borders on the provinces: Uaras (in the south), Yungai (in the north), Asuncion (in the northeast), Uari (in the east).
