Biography
Andrei Abrikosov was born on November 1 (14), 1906 (according to other sources - November 14 (27), 1906 [5] ) in Simferopol ( Tauride province ) in the family of an agronomist.
In his early youth, which fell on the years of the Civil War , he wandered a lot around the south of Russia, and he was homeless .
In 1924 he graduated from the "School of Remembrance of the Communards killed in the October Revolution" in Tula . In 1924 - 1925 he worked as a laborer for harvesting grapes in the village of Shirokaya Balka near Novorossiysk . In 1925 he moved to Moscow , where he got a job as a laborer at the Stroy Radio artel. In the capital, he entered the cinematographic studio of A. S. Khokhlova , but soon left her and studied with Z. S. Sokolova , sister of K. S. Stanislavsky .
In 1926 - 1929 - an employee of the Studio Theater of the Maly Theater (from 1932 - the New Theater ). However, the roles were not given to the aspiring actor. In 1929, an actor who did not play a single role in the theater was approved for the role of Grigory Melekhov in the silent film “Quiet Flows the Don” . The release of this film in 1931 brought the actor wide fame. In 1929 - 1930, he was an actor in the Soyuzkino film studio (now Mosfilm ).
In 1930-1931 he was an actor of the Workers' Mobile Theater, in 1931-1937 - the Realistic Theater , in 1937-1938 - the Chamber Theater (all in Moscow).
Since 1938 - actor of the Moscow Theater. E. Vakhtangova , where he served until the end of his life. In 1953-1959 - the director of the theater.
With a restrained and concise manner of the game, he possessed a powerful temperament and in his best roles reached true heights [4] .

Andrei Lvovich Abrikosov died on October 20, 1973 (according to other sources - October 19 [7] and October 21 [8] ) in Moscow. He was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery (plot number 7).
