Biography
Mariel was born in 1942 in Newtownards ( Northern Ireland ). In 1963, she first appeared on Irish television; In the same year she starred in the British film " Billy Jazz ". In 1969, the young singer had the opportunity for the fifth time to represent Ireland at Eurovision, held in Madrid . [1] She became the first woman to represent Ireland (participating since 1965), as well as the first contestant from Northern Ireland. Along with her backing vocalists from the group “ The Lindsays ” also performed.
