Chubarov (Skye) Lane gained high fame after a hearing in December 1926 of a group rape of a rabbakov girl by 22 young people in the Leningrad Provincial Court, among whom were Komsomol members and one candidate for party membership; seven defendants were sentenced to death. The scene of the crime was the Kooperator factory garden between Ligovsky Prospekt and Predtechenskaya (now Chernyakhovsky Street) street. In the Soviet press, the words “Chubarovites” and “Chubarovschina” became widespread.
The modern name is given on September 10, 1935 . Due to the fact that the lane passes near the main passage of the October Railway .
