An English-language adaptation prepared by Miramax Films was shown on Kids' WB on January 22, 2005. During the first screening, some scenes were cut from the film. After the show, the channel’s rating increased sharply, reaching its best result set in 2003, and in the first month of 2005 it exceeded the result for the previous year. On February 15 of the same year, the film was released on DVD . An additional 15 minutes, cut out when shown on television, were returned to it.

“The Fate of Deoxys” is the first film in the series that is not preceded by a short mini-film. Instead, the plot of the film was shown at the beginning of The Fate of Deoxys. Also, some Pokemon, usually staying away from the plot, this time are one of the main characters. In addition, Pokemon Manchlax first appears in this film. Although the rights to show this film belong to Cartoon Network , before that it was shown on Toon Disney on April 16, 2007 (since the company Miramax, which released this film, belongs to Disney). Previously, on the same TV channel, " Pokemon: Dzhirachi - Wishmaker " was broadcast. Finally, this is the last film released in the United States by Miramax and in Canada by Alliance Films in Canada; the next three films in both countries were released by Viz Media , and Universal Studios was involved in the release of Pokémon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior .

The final song in the final credits was “Lovely: Yume Miru Lovely Boy” ( Japanese: L • O • V • E • L • Y ~ 夢見 る LOVELY BOY ~ , “Lovely: Dream-Seeing Lovely Boy”) , performed by Tomoko Kawase under pseudonymy Tommy February6. In other dubs, Bree Sharp's song “This Side of Paradise” ( Rus. This side of Paradise ) was used. In search of ideas for making the film, Kunihiko Yuyama visited Vancouver , British Columbia and Canada [1] .

On the territory of Russia, the film was released on May 23, 2005 on DVD [2] . The distributor was West Video. In the UK, Optimum Home Entertainment became the distributor, planning to release it on DVD. It was planned that the film will go on sale May 9, 2011, but the release was postponed indefinitely. Once the film is released, the delay between releases of the film in the UK and Japan will be 7 years, and 6 years compared to America, which automatically sets a record for the delay between foreign releases of films of the Pokémon series [3] .

Story

A mysterious meteorite rushes to the earth. When it enters the Earth’s atmosphere, it almost wounds Reykwaza - a Pokémon living in the ozone layer and, according to legend, protecting the sky. A meteorite explodes in arctic latitudes, and two egg-shaped crystals appear inside it. The purple crystal turns into Deoxys , and he takes a fragment of the meteorite, in which the second crystal is located. At this moment, Reykwaza appears from the ozone layer and enters the battle with the alien. Witnesses of the battle are polar explorers who conducted research in this area. During the battle, Pokemon unintentionally destroy the scientific base of people and scare a flock of walrus Pokemon. Frightened walruses run in to the water and in turn scare Tori, the child of one of the researchers. Deoxis practically overcomes Reykvazu, but is distracted by the electric field from the broken equipment. Reykwaza takes a chance and hits Deoxis with a powerful hyper-beam. Deoxis turns back into a crystal that falls into the sea. The second crystal goes to the people who take it to Hohenn .

Four years have passed. Ash , May , Brock and Max travel to the city of LaRousse, where Ash will participate in battles in the Battle Tower. In the same city, Tori lives, who, after a psychological trauma suffered in childhood, is afraid of Pokemon, preferring solitude to them. On the same day, Deoxis completely recovering from the battle breaks through the ice and rushes to Hohenn in search of a second crystal, which Tori's parents study in the laboratory.

Ash first meets Tori in the Battle Tower, mistaking him for a Pokemon trainer, and they fight together with Rafe and Sid, the other trainers. However, the heroes lose because Tori has never participated in Pokémon battles in his life. Upset Tori runs away, but on the street helps Pokemon Mainun, who accidentally got stuck in an automatic trash bin. After the fight, Ash meets Tori's father, and explains to him that Tori is afraid of Pokemon. Ash and his friends find Tori, and they spend some time together until they notice the aurora in the sky, which is a signal of Deoxis.

Deoxis invades LaRousse and begins to capture its inhabitants, so that they do not interfere with him in search of a second crystal. Friends manage to escape, but the situation worsens when Reykwaza, once again feeling the presence of Deoxis, bursts into the city to again give Deoxis a battle. Tori shows his friends where the crystal is, and together they charge it with electricity. Deoxis pushes Reykwaza into the Battle Tower and practically defeats him, but at this moment another Deoxis appears, regenerated from the second crystal, and saves Reykwaza. Pokemon stop the fight and fly away from the city.
