The album was published in three versions - an independent CD , LP , as well as a CD + DVD version [4] . Five tracks - Non ti accorgevi di me , Non so più cosa fare , Ti penso e cambia il mondo , Anna parte and La cumbia di chi cambia - were also released separately as digital singles. A music video was shot on one of these songs [5] .
Celentano recorded this album four years after the release of his previous disc, Dormi amore, la situazione non è buona . For the first time in a long time, the singer’s permanent partners, the composer Gianni Bella and the songwriter Mogul [n 2] , with whom Celentano collaborated with 1999 [n 3] , did not participate in the creation of the album.
The album is a joint work of Celentano with such singers and composers as Franco Battiato , Giuliano Sangorgi , Manu Chao , Phil Palmer , as well as rapper Giovanotti and pianist Rafael Gualazzi , Italy's representative for Eurovision 2011 [7] [8] . In Italy, the album received the status of double platinum [9] .

Creation History and Exit
Initially, the planned release of the disc and the animated series "Adrian", where Celentano acts as a director and art director, in early 2012, as they were supposed to be part of the same story. However, on September 28, 2011, an article appeared in the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera , which reported on the imminent release of the song from the new disc by Adriano Celentano [10] . A few days earlier, one of the participants in the recording of the album - Giovanotti , posted a video on his Twitter shot at Pinaxa Studios in Milan, where one of the album’s songs was recorded. In the video, the singer made several comments about recording a new song with Celentano: “You can’t imagine what happened. Yesterday and the day before yesterday in this studio the wind of changes, the wind of history, the rock and roll wind ”soared” [10] . On October 21, the first single from the new disc, “ Non ti accorgevi di me ” [11] [12], appeared on the iTunes website. The song tells about the desire to love and be loved, as well as the need to understand each other as oneself [13] .
On November 24, 2011, Claudia Mori , Celentano's wife, gave a press conference on the release of the new album [14] . The disc was released on November 29 [15] . The official publication of the disc also comes with a booklet containing lyrics and photos taken during the recording of the album, as well as a list of all participants in the recording of the album.
On December 2, 2011, the next issue of la Repubblica XL was published with the title: “The Clan. Celentano calls, Giovanotti and Giuliano Sanggiorgi answer. The story of a big meeting. " On the cover of the magazine was a photograph of Celentano, Giovanotti and Sangorgi [16] .
On December 11, 2011, the official video for the song “ Non so più cosa fare ” from the new album [5] was released . His television premiere took place as part of the show Che tempo che fa [17] , whose guest that night was Claudia Mori. The video starred all four performers of this song - Celentano, Giovanotti, Franco Battiato and Giuliano Sanggiorgi [18] .
Celentano also performed the title song “Facciamo finta che sia vero” at the opening of the Italian Song Festival in San Remo on February 14, 2012 [19] , and at the closing of the festival, February 18, he sang two more songs from the new album - “La cumbia di chi cambia ”and“ Ti penso e cambia il mondo ”, the latter - together with the host of the festival, Gianni Morandi [20] . All songs were performed live. On October 8 and 9, 2012, four songs from the album were performed by the singer at his Rock Economy concert in Verona , where Celentano's friend, singer Gianni Morandi was again.
The album was released in Russia on July 16, 2012 [21] . On October 2 of that year, the album was reissued - CD + DVD [3] . The reissue includes a completely different version of the song "La cumbia di chi cambia", as well as a bonus track - a live version of " Ti penso e cambia il mondo " from San Remo. The DVD included: a music video for the song “ Non so più cosa fare ”, a performance by Morandi and Celentano at the San Remo festival, as well as a video about the presentation of the album.
Artistic Features
The music of the album is represented by such genres as pop , rock , cumbia and tango . The arrangements of the songs are very diverse - the album contains both “heavy guitars” (“Fuoco nel vento”, “Non ti accorgevi di me”), and light, romantic keyboards [22] (“Anna parte”, “La mezza luna” ) The main themes of the compositions are the struggle for the environment , discussions about the economic crisis, corruption , the power of money and lack of spirituality [23] . Thanks to the new songwriters, the disc turned out to be completely different from Adriano’s previous works of the 2000s . The album is a unique example of live music combined with contemporary Italian poetry, reflecting the contemporary mood of the authors as people of different generations. In an interview with TG1, Celentano described the disc as a “cry of rage” and stated that this album was the most “political”. But at the same time, the disc is not without lyrical themes, because, as Celentano explains, “there is love even in suffering” [24] . In an interview for the publication Il Venerdì di Repubblica of December 2, 2011 to the question of how he managed to find a common language with his new co-authors, Celentano replied:
When artists work together, it is very difficult to quarrel, as there is a mutual incentive that makes you not only think, even when you do not share the opinions of another, but also develop an idea that is not always yours. The point is not only that Battiato, Giovanotti and Giuliano from Negramaro are very nice to me, but also that there is an almost philosophical understanding between us [25] .
Adriano put into music what he had been writing in newspapers for a long time or what he had said in his rare public appearances. This is his political speech, which will be interesting not only today but also tomorrow, because nothing has changed in this country for a long time.
The journalist Michel Serra was amazed at the song entitled "Il mutuo" (from Italian. - "Loan"), the text and music of which was written by the performer [27] . Asking Celentano about his level of knowledge in the field of economics , the journalist received the following answer: “I understand something, but there are still many unclear points. Nevertheless, I see in it a bomb on which the world sits ” [25] .
The album cover is a photograph of Celentano with an aggressive expression. An electric guitar hangs on the singer. The same photograph was also used in the cover of the single “Non ti accorgevi di me”, but in this version only the silhouette of the singer is visible, which is painted in black. In the background of the album cover are some military operations, explosions, helicopters, tanks and soldiers [27] .
As in the 1994 Quel punto album, at the end of several songs, sound effects are heard (wind, children's voices, thunder, train). The song “La mezza luna” was already performed by Celentano in 1963 , in the album A New Orleans . The 2011 version uses a modern arrangement, but the lyrics and melody are left unchanged. The harmonious turns in the song “ Ti penso e cambia il mondo ” were partially borrowed from Prelude No. 20 by Frederic Chopin [28] . However, on October 15, 2012, an entry appeared on Celentano’s official website explaining that Chopin’s work is in the public domain , so its “citation” cannot be considered a violation of copyright [29] .
The song " Non so più cosa fare ", the music of which was written by popular Spanish musician Manu Chao, has an unusual rhythmic break. In the middle of the composition, the music calms down, followed by a rather lengthy “ spoken word ”, which is a fragment from the Rockpolitik television show in which Adriano Celentano conducted discussions on political topics [6] . After this fragment, the song regains its original character. In the final composition “Il mutuo”, as well as in the song “Non so pia cosa fare”, there is also a Celentano monologue in speech form.

The album was well received by critics and the public [36] . Most music observers noted unexpected stylistic decisions and the high quality of the arrangements. Celentano's vocal was also appreciated - the voice sounds incredibly cheerful and clean [22] . In Italy, the disc became platinum twice [37] , about 200 thousand copies of the album were sold [38] . In the Italian chart, the disc was in third place [36] . The album became the fifth platinum album in the work of the singer [9] , and entered the top ten albums of 2011 according to the radio station "Vesti FM" [39] .
Music observer for the newspaper Kommersant Boris Barabanov reacted positively to the album, noting:
Facciamo finta che sia vero is an album sparkling with fantasy, unexpected twists of arrangements, fresh melodies, familiar sweet harmonies and powerful social expressions [6] .
- B. Barabanov
The Izvestia.ru portal also gave a positive assessment to the new disc:
The album is predictable in a good way. Of course, discussions on corruption, revolution, the power of money and lack of spirituality in the world of pureblood from the lips of one of the richest people in Italy would have looked speculative if it hadn’t been about Celentano. The words "politics", "economy" and " spread " were heard on his albums (along with the word "romance") before. And is it so bad that one of the most respected artists in the world speaks out on topics that other musicians prefer to keep quiet or simply cannot articulate? Moreover, the two most important components of Celentano's songs - music and unique voice - are as magnificent on Facciamo finta che sia vero as before [23] .

- ↑ In the official booklet of the album, the compositions “Ti penso e cambia il mondo” and “Fuoco nel vento” are dated 2010, and “Non so più cosa fare” - 2003.
- ↑ According to a number of sources, the change of authors was carried out at the initiative of Claudia Mori [6] .
- ↑ This refers to the collaboration of Celentano with Bella and Mogul together, since the singer collaborated separately with Mogul before.
- ↑ Manu Chao composed this song back in 2003, as evidenced by the official booklet of the album, but the song was never released in his performance. Only seven years later, the composer “gave” it to Celentano.
- ↑ The list of participants in the recording of the album is given in accordance with the data published in the official booklet of the album.
