History
On December 13, 1933, the Holy See established the mission of Sui iuris Miarinarivo.
On March 15, 1939, the mission sui iuris Miarinarivu transferred part of its territory to the Apostolic Prefecture to the Apostolic Prefecture of Murundava (today - the Diocese of Murundava ).
On May 25, 1939, Pope Pius XII converted the mission of sui iuris into an apostolic vicar .
On January 13, 1949, the Apostolic Vicariate Miarinarivu transferred part of its territory for the construction of the Apostolic Prefecture of Ciruarumidee (today - Diocese of Ciruanumidee ).
On September 14, 1955, Pope Pius XII issued the bull Dum tantis , which transformed the Apostolic Vicariate Miarinariva into the diocese.
