The Archdiocese of Tuamasina ( Latin: Archidioecesis Toamasinensis ) is the archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church with its center in the city of Tuamasina , Madagascar . The dioceses of Ambatundrazaki , Moramanga , Fenuarivo-Atzinanany are included in the metropolis of Tuamasins.

History
On June 18, 1935, Pope Pius XI issued the bull Inter graviores , which he established the apostolic prefecture of Vatumandri, separating it from the apostolic vicars of Fianarantsoa (today - the Archdiocese of Fianarantsoa ) and Tananarive (today - the Archdiocese of Antananarivo ).
On May 25, 1939, the apostolic prefecture of Vatumandri was transformed into an apostolic vicar.
On September 14, 1955, Pope Pius XII issued the bull Dum tantis , which transformed the apostolic vicar Vatumandri into a diocese. On the same day, the diocese of Watumandri entered the Metropolitanate of Tananarive.
On December 11, 1958, the Diocese of Vatumandri entered the Metropolitanate of Antsiranana .
On April 9, 1968, the Diocese of Vatumandri transferred part of its territory for the construction of the new diocese of Mananjari .
On January 31, 1990, the Diocese of Vatumandri was renamed the Diocese of Tuamasina.
On February 26, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI issued the bull Spiritali progressioni , which raised the diocese of Tuamasina to the rank of archdiocese.
