Avalyan, Garnik Armenakovich

Garnik Armenakovich Avalyan ( Armenian Գառնիկ Արմենակի Ավալյան ; September 6, 1962 , Ijevan ) - Soviet and Armenian footballer , striker , football coach. Since January 2013, he has been the head coach of Ryazan Zvezda .

Biography

The Ryazan Torpedo, for which Avalyan played, played for two years in a row with Wings of the Soviets in the second league. Coach Viktor Antikhovich persuaded Avalyan to go to Wings and continued to do so, even when his team got into the High Division, until Garnik Avalyan agreed [1] . So at the age of 30 he began to play in the Premier League for the first time, held his first match for Wings of the Soviets on March 8, 1993.

He played 8 matches for the Armenian team , scored 2 goals.

In June 2019, FC Ryazan, in which Avalyan worked as a head coach, did not renew his contract.

Achievements

  • Master of Sports of the USSR (as a semi-finalist of the Cup of the Soviet Union).
  • He was the captain of “Wings of the Soviets”, in 2009 received the title of Honored Veteran of FC “Wings of the Soviets”.
  • He played for the student team of Russia and the national team of Armenia (9 games, 1 goal).
  • He played 228 matches in the Russian football championship and scored 42 goals.
  • From July 2002 to January 2010 (with a break) he was the head coach of the Ryazan club [2] .
  • In 2015, he was recognized as the best coach of the second division of Russia in the Center zone [3] .
