The world track cycling championship of 2003 was held in Stuttgart from July 30 to August 3 under the auspices of the UCI . 15 sets of awards were played: 9 for men and 6 for women. Initially, the championship was to be held in the Chinese city of Shenzhen , but due to the outbreak of SARS, it was decided to hold the competition in Germany. The winners in the team event was the Russian national team, which won all its medals in the female part of the competition.
