Horse riding began at the age of 11 years. His sports career lasted more than 30 years. Participant of 3 Olympiads - in Mexico City (1968), Munich (1972), Moscow (1980). At the Moscow Games, the 43-year-old Mexican won two bronze medals - in team and individual competition, speaking on Alimoni's horse. In the mid-1980s, he moved to the USA, but continued to visit Mexico frequently, where he conducted training seminars on equestrian sports.
