Oschuk ( Spanish: Oxchuc ) is a municipality in Mexico , Chiapas , with an administrative center in the city of the same name . The population according to the 2010 census was 43,350.

General information
The name Oxchuc from the Celtal language can be translated as three nodes .
The area of the municipality is 72 km², which is 0.1% of the state. It borders with other municipalities of Chiapas : in the north with San Juan Cancuk , in the northeast with Okosingo , in the east with Altamirano , in the south with Canal , in the southwest with Uistan , and in the west with Tenehapa [3] .

The working population is occupied by sectors of the economy in the following proportions: agriculture and livestock - 87.8%, manufacturing and manufacturing - 1.3%, services and tourism - 8.7% [4] .
Infrastructure
According to statistics from 2000, the infrastructure is developed as follows [4] :

- electrification: 54.9%;
- water supply: 24.5%;
- water disposal: 8.2%.
Tourism
Main Attractions [4] :
- Architectural: St. Thomas Church, built during the colonial period.
- Natural: landscapes of coniferous forests, as well as waterfalls on the Mesbilha river.
