Biography
In 1960 he entered the studio of the Poltava Gogol Theater under the direction of Arnold Arkadyevich Nyumen. In 1965 , he left for Kamchatka , where he founded on October 18, 1965, the Koryak dance ensemble “ Mango ” (first as an amateur, and since 1974 , as a professional choreographic collective). Gil led the ensemble until his tragic death; Now the State Academic Koryak National Dance Ensemble "Mango" (artistic director - Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR Mark Nyumen) bears his name. The son of Alexander Gil Taras is dancing in the ensemble, the widow Ekaterina Trifonovna has released a book of memoirs about Gil, "Life in the Dance."
On July 1, 2013, A. V. Gil was posthumously awarded the title “Honorary Resident of the Kamchatka Territory” [1]
