Bölsheeya ( Norwegian Bölscheøya , literally “ Bölshe Island”) is a small island-settlement of the Thousand Islands archipelago southwest of Edge Island of the Svalbard polar archipelago. The island was named a traveler by August Peterman in 1868 in honor of the German journalist Karl Bölsche - the father of the famous German writer Wilhelm Bölsche .

The remains of an early 17th-century settlement of whalers (allegedly Danish ) were discovered on the island.
