Interspecies parish ( Latvian Mežvidu pagasts ) is one of the six territorial units of the Karsava region of Latvia . Located in the southwestern part of the region. It borders the Salnavsky , Malnava and Merdzensky volosts of its territory, the Zvirgzdensky and Pushmutsovsky volosts of the Tsiblsky region , as well as from the Berzgalsky , Ilzeskalns and Nautrensky volosts of the Rezekne region .

Interspecies parish crosses the road A13 Grebnevo - Rezekne - Daugavpils - Medumi, which is part of the European route E 262 [1] .
The following rivers flow through the parish: Ritupe , Icha, Chervonka, Dasa.
Population
At the beginning of 2015, the population of the parish is 849 permanent residents [2] .
The largest settlements of the volost are the villages: Mezhvidy (volost center), Otrye Mezhvidi, Annasmuizha, Griudinishi, Ranchi, Bringas.
The national composition is homogeneous - 95% of the population of the parish are Latvians .
History
In 1945, the Intervidian Village Council was established in the Berzgale parish of Rezekne County . After the abolition of the volost division in 1949, it was part of the Ludza region .
In 1954, the territory of the liquidated Padolsky village council was annexed to the Interstate village council. In 1977 - the liquidated Ranch village council [3] .
In 1990, the Inter-Vid village council was reorganized into a volost. In 2009, at the end of the Latvian administrative-territorial reform, the Interspecies parish became part of the Karsava region.
