Making a movie
Screen adaptation of the story of Albert Camus "Jonah, or the artist at work."
The short story duplicates Camus himself, his aesthetics . "It's hard to paint the world and people and live with them at the same time." That is what Jonah thought, but Camus himself thought the same way.
He said in 1957: “Any artist must sail today in the gallery of modernity. "He must put up with this, even if he believes that this vessel smelled of herring through, that there are too many overseers on it, and that in addition it has taken the wrong course." Although the “galley” has not only a bad smell, but also a plague, this is modernity, and the keeper of the right course, Camus, looking at her with increasing disgust, lost his own course, the meaning of his work [1] ...
The film was shot by actor Alexander Kaydanovsky on the 3rd year of the All- Union Soviet Socialist Republic (workshop of S. A. Solovyov ) and is his term paper [2] .
Movie plot
The main character of the film is the artist Jonah. He lives and works in a workshop with his wife and four children. Jonah is trying to devote his life to creativity and the search for inspiration. He constantly faces a lack of understanding of the people around him, which prevents him from working. The wife understands Jonah better than anyone, but she, despite her love for him, demands from Jonah a greater place in life. Unable to withstand all the hustle and bustle of life, Jonah becomes a hermit . He leaves to live and work in the attic. In the process, Jonah brings himself to exhaustion . In the attic of him, finally seeing the truth, are found by relatives [3] .
