Gastronomic tourism

Gastronomic tourism is a type of tourism whose main purpose is to get to know one country or another through the prism of national gastronomy . For the gastronomic tourist, food is primarily a category of culture. From this position, traditional cuisine is perceived in connection with the history, religion, economy, politics, customs, legends and other factors that form the unique identity of a country or region [1] .

A gastronomic tour, or gastrotour, is a set of events for tasting dishes typical of local cuisine [2] . “The lessons of culinary regional studies are held not only in restaurants, but also in markets, farms, and kitchens of local residents, during carnival and harvesting, at a table and just outside” [1] .
