Sports Biography
At the Summer Olympics, Paul Palmer made his debut in 1992 in Barcelona . The British swimmer started at two individual distances (200 m and 400 m freestyle), and also as part of the UK team took the start in the 4x200 m freestyle relay. In all three disciplines, Palmer managed to break into the top ten. At the 200-meter he took the 9th place, at the 400-meter distance he became the 10th, and in the relay he managed to take the 6th place.
The first major success in the career of Paul Palmer was the bronze medal, won in 1993 at the World Championships in short water . Later, Palmer won another bronze and three silver medals at the World Swimming Championships in a 25-meter pool.
In 1996, at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Palmer took part in four disciplines. The 1500 meter freestyle distance in which the British swimmer took 10th place was new for the athlete. At the 200-meter freestyle, Palmer managed to qualify for the final, but took the last eighth place there. At a distance twice as long as Paul Palmer showed the 6th time in the preliminary round and managed to qualify for the final, where he came in second sensationally and won the silver medal of games.
