Location and General
It is located in the southern part of the Kairaya elder, 8 km south of the administrative center of the elder - the town of Kairyai , and 6 km southeast of the administrative center of the district - the city of Siauliai . [6] [7]

There is one primary school in the village, in which approximately 70 children are enrolled and 17 employees work. Also located in the village: a post office (LT-80004) and a railway station.
History
In historical sources, the first is mentioned under 1649 . But the village began to actively develop and grow after the construction of the same name station of the Libavo-Romny railway near it in the 1870s .
Administrative submission:
From 1950 to 1995, the village was part of the Kairayai apilinka . [8] Since 1995, it has been part of the Kairaya Elder. In 2009, it was included in the Šilenai Sianjunaitiya and became its administrative center.

- Raymondas укиukis (b. 1966) - lawyer, politician, MP, Minister of Health and former Chairman of the Sejm, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior, Professor at the Law Faculty of Vilnius University.
