Geography
Location
14 km north-west of Svetlogorsk , 15 km from the Svetlogorsk-on-Berezin railway station (on the Zhlobin - Kalinkovichi line ), 124 km from Gomel .
Hydrography
In the west, reclamation canals connected to the Chirka River (a tributary of the Zherdyanka River ).
Transportation Network
On the highway Svetlogorsk - Parichi . The layout consists of a rectilinear street oriented from the southeast to northwest. Two-sided building, wooden, manor type.
History
According to written sources, a village has been known since the 19th century in the Parichsky parish of Bobruisk district of the Minsk province . In 1879, it was designated among the villages of the Chirkovichi church parish . In 1888 a wooden church was built. According to the 1897 census, a church, a bakery, a chapel, and a tavern operated. In 1910, a school was opened, which was located in a hired peasant house, and in the early 1920s a nationalized building was allocated for it.
From August 20, 1924 to July 16, 1954, the center of the Rakshyn village council of the Parichsky district of Bobruisk (until July 26, 1930) district, from February 20, 1938 to Polesskaya , from January 8, 1954 to the Gomel region. In 1930, a collective farm was organized. During the Great Patriotic War in May 1944, the invaders completely burned the village and killed 32 residents. According to the 1959 census, the feldsher-midwife station was located.
