Pechishchi ( Belor. Pechyshchy ) is a village in the Sosnovy Bor village council of the Svetlogorsk district of the Gomel region of Belarus .

Geography
Location
12 km south-west of Svetlogorsk , 13 km from the railway station Svetlogorsk-on-Berezina (on the Zhlobin - Kalinkovichi line ), 122 km from Gomel .
Hydrography
In the south and north there are drainage canals connected to the Zherdyanka River (a tributary of the Berezina River ) located on the eastern outskirts.
Transportation Network
The road connects the village with Svetlogorsk. The layout consists of a straight street, oriented from the south-east to north-west, the center of which is joined by a short straight-line street. The building is wooden, manor type.
History
According to written sources, it has been known since the 19th century as a village in the Parich parish, Bobruisk district, Minsk province . In 1879, a Jewish prayer house was located in the village. According to the 1897 census.
In 1924, a school was opened, which was located in a hired peasant house. In 1925, in the Shatil village council of the Parichsky district of the Bobruisk district . In 1929 a collective farm was organized.
During World War II on February 10, 1942, German punitive forces broke into the village, burned it and shot 120 people (buried in the grave of victims of fascism, 1 km from the village, opposite the cemetery). The commander of the reconnaissance platoon of the 170th Rechitsa Infantry Division, P. A. Miroshnichenko, in the battle for the village, on January 1, 1944, closed the embrasure of the bunker with his body (on June 3, 1944 he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union ). A memorial plaque was installed on the club building in memory of him in 1967. In the battles near the village, 913 Soviet soldiers and 4 partisans were killed (buried in a mass grave in the center of the village).
According to the census of 1959, the center of the SEC “Kolkhoz Progress”. There is a sewing workshop, a mill, a sawmill, a secondary school, a House of Culture, a library, a medical assistant and obstetric center, a veterinary station, a liaison office , a shop, a kindergarten.
Until December 31, 2009 the center of the Pechishchansky Village Council [1] .
